About Us
Saltire Foundation Canada partners with Entrepreneurial Scotland to deliver the world-class Saltire Scholar Internship Program. The Saltire Scholar Program has over 17 years of proven experience globally. Originally founded and nurtured by the Global Scot network in 2007, the program engages with over 5,000 members globally and has grown to attract approximately 1,200 applicants annually. In 2023, the program worked with 75 leading and entrepreneurial host companies across 7 countries in 61 different towns and cities.
In 2021, Census Canada revealed there are approximately 4.4 million Canadians who self-identify as being of Scottish heritage, close to as many as there were Scots in Scotland that same year! The Saltire Scholar Program discovers and develops high calibre talent in Scotland while simultaneously benefiting Canadian companies by diversifying their human resources and giving them access to a talent pool beyond their geographic boundaries.
